So what's new with Elliott at five months?
~ He has started sleeping much longer stretches. Not always all night every night, but much better than he had been. He often eats around 11pm, and then will sleep until 5:30am or later. Several nights this week he has slept all night! (Of course, Murphy's Law has prevailed and one of the other kids has been up in the night on nights that he hasn't been. One of these days I will get an uninterrupted night of sleep, right?).
~ He is enjoying spending more time sitting up, both in his high chair and in his bumbo. He started eating rice cereal this month!
~ He is such a sweet and smiley guy. He loves to snuggle and we love to snuggle with him.
~ Elliott got his first sick baby visit this month. On Collette's birthday, he got his first ear infection, along with a nasty chest cold. It also happened to be the day we were leaving for Myrtle Beach, so we were worried we wouldn't be able to go, but thankfully our doctor cleared him to travel, and he was a trooper for the 12 hour car ride! (He was up to 15lbs, 2oz at his appointment.)
(Poor sick, pathetic baby. He was so congested, his little voice was so hoarse he couldn't even cry, and he was pretty miserable. Glad it only took a few doses of medicine before he started perking back up!)
~And on a related note, he went on his first vacation and visited the ocean for the first time! We did dip his tiny toes in the ocean, but it was pretty chilly-- he preferred to stay dry and warm. :)
~ He mesmerized by his brother and sister. He thinks they are so funny and they just love doing things to make him smile. Collette decided to dress him in this outfit that matched her baby doll, so that we could have two babies.
(Collette loves looking at photobooks and remembered seeing pictures of Trey in this outfit, so she picked it out for Elliott to wear.)
Our big five-month-old boy!!
