8 Months Old!

Elliott.  You are going to have to quit growing so fast.  I'm still kind of in denial that you are as old as you are, and then I blink and another month has gone past.  I barely got used to telling people that you are seven months old, and already you are eight months.  But each month is more fun than the last! So what's new with Elliott at 8 months old?

~ He is a happy, sweet, content baby almost all of the time.  The nursery workers at church all love him, and always comment about how content he is.  He just smiles and goes with the flow.  I'd love to think that this is just how is little personality will be, but baby Trey was the same way as a baby.  And we all know how busy little boy Trey is!

~ He loves to eat!! He gets so excited for each meal, and has started making "mmmmmmm" sounds when he sees food.  He loves cereal, fruits, and veggies.  He isn't a huge fan of chunky textures yet, but there is no pureed food that he doesn't like so far.  He just started eating puffs last week, and he loves them, too.  And it is fun to see him so excited about feeding himself.

~ He loves to sit and play, and will play contentedly on the floor for long periods of time, but hasn't shown much interest in crawling.  He has just started getting up on his hands and knees, so maybe army crawling or crawling are in the near future?

~ I hate to jinx us, but I think we have turned a corner with the spittiness.  For the past few weeks, we have gone through significantly fewer bibs, burp cloths, and clothing changes.  And he doesn't protest being on his belly like he used to, since he hasn't spit up every single time we put him on his stomach lately. He is still on baby Zantac, which seems to help.

(Waking up Daddy)

~ He is a solid little guy! He is in 12 month clothes, size 3 diapers, and size 3 shoes.

~ He has started being more predictable for nap times and bed times. He usually naps around 10am and 2:30pm, and goes to bed around 8:30 at night.  He is still up at least once most every night. He has no concept of "cry it out" (a concept both Trey and Collette caught on to very quickly and easily, and hence slept through the night at very young ages), and will cry and cry and cry and cry and cry.... so I have just gotten him out of bed.  Say what you want about bad habits; right now it is more important for him to not wake up every other member of our house! He usually eats and goes right back to sleep, so we are only awake around 20-30 minutes.

(And he can nap anywhere! Even in the cold! Ha!)

~ He is still highly entertained by his siblings, and they still just love spending time with him.

(Here is Super Baby, complete with his blanket cape, and the two other Superheros striking fierce poses)

~ He still has not one tooth in this little mouth.  And that fluffy hair keeps right on growing, getting lighter in color, and getting longer.

Happy 8 months, Elliott! You can stop growing any time now. :)
