Road trip girls! Collette had to buckle her three dolls into car seats for the trip to meet our friends!
Erin loves superheroes, so we brought some fun superhero stuff from a party we attended. The girls had fun with it on their trip!
Just a tad bit excited.
We started off just exploring the store. There was a ton of stuff to check out!
Collette wanted to buy something for each of her dolls, and and gifts for her girl cousins' dolls, too. I wasn't sure that was in our budget, but she did a great job picking small items for each one. She is a thoughtful and budget conscious shopper! No requests for huge purchases, and no tears over anything she couldn't have. Just a fun day of shopping!
Y'all. They even had doll hooks in each bathroom stall, so the dolls could stay nice and clean. Too funny! And Erin thought the escalator was the best thing ever! I think she rode it 15 times. :)
Collette and Erin with their doll purchases. She chose a toy cat as a pet for Samantha, and an outfit for her Bitty Baby. She also chose an American Girl Doll Store, Washington DC shirt for her doll at home. She really wanted a matching outfit for her and Samantha, but they were out of our price range at the store. I told her we could pick one out at a different store. The matching outfit she and Samantha are wearing is from K-Mart, less than $15 for both!
We also had a tea at the American Girl Cafe. It was so fun! All of the dolls got to join the party, and we all got the cutest and tastiest little treats. Nancy, Erin, and I all got tea, but Collette picked hot chocolate with whipped cream. I think it was a good choice. :) The girls even got to keep the doll tea cups and plates, and got a special treat (a shirt and doll sized shopping bag) for the dolls. So cute!
After we finished at the store, we decided to go back to our hotel, swim, and get dinner to go. Poor Erin had a stomach bug later in the day and I'm afraid the evening wasn't too fun for her. :( But she was such a trooper and even said that going to the store was "the best day ever." We will have to do another trip when she is feeling 100% healthy!
It was a rare treat for both of us to just have girl time with our daughters, while the husbands and boys were at home! I think we may need to make it an annual event!
