One and a Half

Trey is 18 months old today. One and a half.  And even though I still refer to him as my baby, he is become more of a "big boy" every day.  He is such a fun little person, and we are loving seeing him grow and change every day.

So what's new with Trey at 18 months?

~ He is getting at least four more teeth! He has molars coming in, and another bottom tooth. The molars have made him a bit of a grump. :)

~ He still loves to climb, and his newest trick is scaling his high chair, turning around to sit down in it, and then attempting to buckle himself in.  (I got it on video, I need to upload it.) He loves buckles right now, too. And of course he looks so proud of himself when he does it. The trampoline is big fun, too, partly because he can climb on and off it about a million times. :)

~He is a little fish, and loves to be in the water.  He is going to enjoy Mimi and Bumpa's pool this year! He has started sitting on the ladder and jumping in. Another daredevil!

~ He is learning more words, but he isn't quite as verbal as Collette was at 18 months.  I will ask him, "Trey, can you say _____ ?" Sometimes he will try to say it, and sometimes he won't.  Sometimes he will say "no." :)  He says around 40-50 words, according to our count.

~ He loves to be outside and "go, go, go!"

~ He and Collette are starting to have more of the sibling squabbles-- not wanting to share toys, taking something from the other one and running away, etc.  And Trey can dish it out as well as he takes it.  But they have so much fun together and love playing together.  Collette is usually the first one to go see Trey in the morning, and I love hearing the giggles coming from his room early in the morning.

~ He continues to love anything with wheels, and tractors especially.  Luckily for him he gets ample opportunity to see them! When he hears a tractor coming (they go past our house multiple times a day) he will run to a window (or the fence if we are outside) and just stand and wait.  Totally focused.  It is so cute.

This was the day Pap came in the big dump truck to bring our coal.  He sat, transfixed, and watched the truck for as long as it was at our house. Such longing!!

~ He is still a good little snuggler, especially when he first gets up.

~ And this boy can EAT! He loves his food and I really haven't found anything that he won't eat.  He asks for "nana" (banana) every morning and "cheeee" (cheese) at lunch.  The other night we ordered pizza and he ate TWO WHOLE PIECES.  And was still asking for "Mo" (more)!
~ He loves to play with his toy tractors and trains, and any ball, and likes our toy kitchen. He also likes to play with Collette and her toys-- the other day he found a toy brush, went and got her Rapunzel doll, and sat down and brushed her hair! Ha!

(Not a great picture, but good evidence of the hair brushing!)

~ He went to the doctor twice this month-- the first time was for a fever that I thought was another ear infection, but it ended up being his throat.  He tested negative for strep, so it was most likely a virus. Then a couple weeks later, he got another nasty virus and pink eye, so he was on antibiotics for that. He goes for his 18 month check up next week, but at his last visit he was about 26 pounds.

This little guy has a mischievous twinkle in his eye most of the time, and is so much fun despite being a handful at times.  It hardly seems possible that a year and a half as passed since he came into our lives! Happy half-birthday, Trey!
