The day after Thanksgiving we got our tree. There is a man at "neighborhood" (we live out in the country, so we use this term quite loosely) who sells trees for $10! What a deal! So we went to check out the tree selection. LL convinced me that "bigger is better," this year, and we ended up getting a 9- foot-plus tree!
The kids loved helping pick out our tree.
And, of course, once we had the tree where we wanted it, we had to continue our annual tradition of The Lighting of the Children.
Collette had been asking for a weeks now to put the star on the top of the tree. It was quite an ordeal to get her up there, but with a stool and Daddy's help she reached the top!
And of course Trey needed a turn to check out the top, too. :)
Ta-da! We are tempting fate this year and putting our tree in easy reach of one curious little boy... it is harnessed to the wall, so it can't fall over, and so far all of our ornaments are still in tact!
