Here are the roomies, 13+ years later! Me, Danielle, Becky, Lacosta, and Nora (with sweet baby Simone).
And with the husbands! LL had left for a few minutes so he missed out on the photo op. :)
And the progeny! We are missing Kylee, but have the rest. Each of the five couples has one boy and one girl. :)
LL was scheduled to work at the farm show the next day, so instead of driving home and driving back the next morning, we spent the night at Nora's house in Harrisburg. All of the kids were so excited about the sleep-over, even though they didn't sleep together. Collette and Trey slept in sleeping bags on the floor in the room we slept in. It was Trey's first time sleeping in a sleeping bag on the floor, and I was a little worried about how he would do. Collette settled down like a pro and was ready for bed (it was late and they were exhausted!) but Trey just kept talking and talking! Ha! Finally they sacked out and we all got some sleep, although they were both awake and disoriented at times during the night, so it wasn't our most restful night ever. :)
The next morning we enjoyed just hanging out and playing with Evan and Simone.
And then that afternoon we went to the farm show. LL always works at the veterinary booth at the show, so he didn't get to do all of the sight-seeing we did. However, as anyone who has ever been to the farm show can attest to, the food is half the reason to go! We enjoyed all of the PA-grown goodies-- fried mushrooms, milk shakes, fried cheese, apple dumplings-- all very healthy. :)
Trey just relaxing with his milkshake.
We saw lots of animals-- many not to new to my farm kids, but some, like these Alpacas they could pet, were a big hit.
And, of course, we had to see the butter sculpture. Yes, that is entirely carved out of butter.
It was a fun weekend away!
