The kids were encouraged to bring a favorite doll or stuffed animal to practice diapering. Collette, of course, brought her beloved baby (whose name continues to change). Trey practiced on dolls they had there, and also brought a sock monkey of his own to practice on.
Practicing swaddling skills!
Collette is very into coloring right now, and was so excited that they each got a "Hello, Baby" coloring book to work on.
Rocking his baby!
After they talked about hand washing, diapering, swaddling, etc., they got to go on a tour of the maternity ward, and meet a new baby! This was the highlight of the evening, and both kids came home talking about how they got to see a brand new baby girl. :) Trey told LL, "I want to hold it in my hands!" Ha! LL didn't take any pictures of that part, since the mother was already sweet enough to allow a group of little people to come see her baby, and didn't need paparazzi, too. :)
After they finished their tour, they watched a little movie about babies, and then got to decorate a visor.
The evening ended with coupons for free items at the McDonald's next door!
It was so fun to hear all about the kids' experiences! Baby brother will be here before we know it!
