Tap Dance Recital

Collette recently finished her dance classes for the year, and her class put on two mini-recitals.  I really liked how low-key her dance class was.  She learned a lot, but there was no big, fancy "recital" with lots of dress rehearsals, expensive costumes, tickets to buy, etc.  Which I think is perfect for 3 and 4 year olds who may or may not even perform once they get on stage. :)

Their class does both ballet and tap, but for this performance, they only did their tap dance.  The older kids did both a ballet and a tap dance.

My little tap dancer, ready to go!

Hanging out with a couple of her friends before the performance.

All lined up and ready to go! Look at those pensive faces. :)

Here is her tap dance. :)  She is the second one from the left in the front row.  My favorite part is when she gives a big "OK" sign to the audience... not sure why?  But it cracked us up!

Collette's class and some of the other classes that Ms. Michele teaches.

In the afternoon, they did their dance again at a nursing home in the area.  Here are Collette and a few of her friends, ready to go! :)

Ready to dance!

The 3 and 4 year old class photo.  :) With Collette right in the middle, of course. Ha! My tall girl.

I'm so glad we decided to enroll Collette in another program after her ballet program closed this year.  She has had a great time and learned so much.  I can see improvement in her following directions, listening to her teacher, and learning new skills.  And most of all, she has loved doing it!
