Trey at 2 {and a Half}

Well.  I had a whole post about Trey at 2 and a half, but somehow when I went back to edit it and add pictures, almost everything I wrote wasn't saved. So no doubt this version won't be as thorough, but at least it will be something!

~ He has started working on potty training.  He will go on the potty several times each day, but isn't consistent yet.  We haven't been too "hardcore" about it, and are letting him go at his own pace.  Collette is very excited to help him, and I think she sees Trey as her own special "project" for potty training.  :)  Helpful, and not so helpful at the same time. Ha!

~ He has developed the habit of trying to sneak into our bed and sleep with us at night.  Somewhere around 2-4am, he will sneak out of bed, into our room, and around to LL's side of the bed. He knows Mommy will send him right back to his own bed! :)  If he successfully gets in the bed with LL without me fully awakening (because LL is dead to the world when he is asleep), he will snuggle in and sleep with us. Most nights I send him back to his own bed. ;)

~ He watches so closely when anyone is doing a new task around him, and often replicates it after only watching a time or two.  He loves to push buttons of any kind, loves tools (particularly ones with handles), and loves all machinery.  We make very sure that they keys to things like the lawn mower, Pap's Mule, Gram's golf cart, etc., are all well hidden from Trey!

~ He continues to love all tractors and diggers. I found him a book about diggers (Big Construction Site, Little Construction Site), and we read it every chance we get. He can tell you more about back hoes, dump trucks, front loaders, and excavators than I could! He gets so excited when he sees them, always saying "Look at that digger go!" Playing with his diggers in his sandbox is a favorite pastime.

~ He never.stops.talking. :) Or so it seems sometimes.  LL and I have to laugh about it, because when he was one, I was worried that he wasn't talking enough.  Then he turned two and started talking a lot. And now, at two and a half, we are constantly telling him to be quiet! Ha! He still frequently uses "my" instead of "I", and will say "My do it!" "My had it first!" etc. He has recently started using more comparisons (i.e., describing things as going "super fast" or "more slowly," etc.) , telling us which item/activity is his "favorite," and giving compliments ("Mommy, I love your pink shirt! So pretty! I love it!").  It is fun to see his language skills develop.

~ He is always on the go, go, go.  He is what people like to call "busy" and "all boy" when talking to me. HA! He loves to be throwing things, hitting things with sticks, running, jumping, climbing, etc.  All of these things are fine (mostly) when we are outside... but inside, there is a lot of reminding him that we can't throw things, hit things, etc., in the house!

~ His new favorite show is Paw Patrol, and he will ask to watch it several times a day.  When it is on (thank you, Lord, for DVR), it is one of the only times a day he will actually sit still! :)

~ He is a funny kid and he knows it.  He loves getting people to laugh, and keeps us entertained with his silly antics.  He continues to have a big mischievous streak, and that twinkle in his eye is undeniable!

It is just so much fun to see how he continues to grow and change!
