Elliott is two months old today. And yes, as always, this month has flown. So what is new with our sweet baby boy at two months?
~ He is a prolific spitter-upper. So much so, that he ended up going to the doctor, who ordered an ultrasound to determine if he had pyloric stenosis, a stomach condition which would require surgery. He needed to not eat for four hours before the ultrasound, and I was pretty worried that he would be a hot mess the entire time we were waiting for his appointment, but he did great! And thankfully, he does not have pyloric stenois! So, he has been started on baby Zantac twice a day. It usually takes a couple of weeks to work, so I'm not entirely sure if the Zantac is going to do the trick or not, but we are trying it for now. He goes to the doctor this Friday to get evaluated.
~ He has started having some periods of sleeping longer at night-- sometimes 5, and once or twice even 6 hours at a time! On nights that he doesn't sleep long stretches, he is up about every 3 hours.
~ He eats about every 2-3 hours during the day. He will take a bottle like a champ if I am gone, which makes things so much nicer for everyone. :)
~ He has started to really enjoy playing on his little play mat and batting at his toys. Collette and Trey are so excited to see him play that they keep getting on the mat and shaking all of the toys for him. Ha! I need to tell them all the time to back up and let Elliott do it!
~ He is starting to be a social smiler, although his smiles are pretty fleeting and hard to catch on camera.
~ He is starting to find his voice, and I love hearing those sweet baby coos.
~ He still has fluffy baby hair, especially after baths. It is so sweet and I just love it. :) Both Collette and Trey need to "pet his hair, " as they call it, multiple times every day.
~ He is a very content little guy, and really only cries if he is hungry or his belly is hurting.
Here are his official two month pictures! And just for fun, HERE are Trey's two month pictures, and HERE are Collettes. :)
