Kayaking on the Susquehanna

We got the opportunity to go kayaking with the Bucknell club, which sponsors alumni events.  We had never been with the kids before, but they had kayaks that were designed for four people, so we were able to go together.  Well, with the exception of Elliott.  Kids needed to be 30 pounds in order to go, and it would have been a nightmare to try to keep him contained anyway. :)  So he got some Grandma time in while we did something special with the big kids.

Trey was in heaven, because they gave water guns to each person.  He spent most of his time filling up his gun and squirting whomever he could reach.

Collette just wanted to swim.  She spent more time in the water than on the kayak! She even got rides on the two guides' kayaks, which was big fun.

We paddled right under a Bald Eagle's nest, and got to see an eagle perched in the tree.  Very cool!

Collette also enjoyed her squirt gun when she was in the kayak.

She even managed to get our photographer. Ha!

We had such a fun day together! The weather was perfect, and it was fun to do a "big kid" activity.  It even gave us a glimpse of what our future might hold, when we have kids big enough to do all of these fun things more often!
