Catching Up

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been so silent this September... we have had tons of computer problems and are just now getting them resolved. First the laptop died and we weren't too worried because it was under warranty, but then found out that the warranty division of the computer company had been sold and our warranty wouldn't be honored, and then we tried to get a new hard drive at Best Buy and they said they could fix it, but turns out they were wrong, and in the middle of it, our ancient desktop, literally over 12 years old, decided it was giving up the ghost and died. SOO, now we have a new mini netbook, which I am loving, and eventually we are going to get a new desktop, too. All in good time. Anyway, that is why I haven't been posting so much this month!

So what's new? Well, big news is we now have a new kitchen floor! We had ancient old yellow 1970's linoleum, and because they had a washer/dryer in there, there are holes and stains that we couldn't do anything about. It was NOT pretty, and with a little baby crawling on that floor soon, we knew something needed to change! So we found some new flooring, a great material in between linoleum and tile, which should work great for the next several years until we decide we want to remodel the entire kitchen. Here are a few pics of the kitchen floor before:

And here is our floor after:

We love it and it is such an improvement! And we have been putting our kitchen to good use... this past Saturday we did grapes! We made 50 or more pints of grape jelly, and 30 quarts of grape juice! It was a family affair, with my SIL Taryn and her kids, my MIL, grandma, and great uncle Barney. I was more than a little nervous that the grapes would stain my brand new floor, but luckily it truly is stain resistant!

In other home improvement news, the nursery is coming along... as I type our electrician in here putting in electrical sockets (there was only one in the room, in a very inconvenient place). When the electrical work is done, LL can prime the room, and then we can paint. We have the paint and the bedding, crib, and dresser, so hopefully it will go pretty quickly once we can get started. I can't wait to get it finished, and then post lots of pictures! LL went a little crazy at the baby bedding site, and bought EVERYTHING under the sun for the room, so it will no doubt be very cute! I just had my 34 week appointment yesterday, and everything is still looking good, and the Dr. said her heartbeat is exactly where it should be (in the 140s) so that is a praise! I can't believe we only have 6 more weeks!

Those are the big updates for now... hopefully I can post more soon now that I have a functional computer!
