Collette's 2nd Birthday Party (Part Two)

So now that we have discussed the theme etc., it's time for pictures of the actual party! I didn't get any pictures of people eating lunch, because I was running around too much, but everyone enjoyed the food and Collette was super excited to sit with all of her cousins at the "kid table." :) 

After lunch we did her cake! We actually Skyped with my parents (who didn't make the trip out this time, since they are coming next month when Baby Brother arrives), so they could see us sing Happy Birthday and have Collette blow out her candle.  I put the cake down in front of her (we strapped her into her booster seat in hopes that would prevent her from climbing on to the table in pursuit of her cake. HA!) and the very first thing she did was reach as far as she could and stick that little finger out to swipe icing! LOL, that's my girl!

We still love chocolate cake and ice cream! :) (All day on Saturday when I was baking, she kept saying "I want chocolate cake, please!")

As soon as we finished the cake, the kids started clamoring to go outside and play for a little bit.  It was a nice sunny day, so we let them run off some energy in the yard.

After playing outside, it was time for presents!  We moved into the living room so Collette had some floor space to open and play with gifts.

Baby Alive came with a tooth brush, tooth paste, and several other accessories.  Collette was very serious about brushing Baby's teeth. :)

She was also excited about her new shopping cart! She put Baby in it right away and decided to go shopping!

We attempted to get a good family picture, but my newly-two-year-old decided to express her independence and was NOT interested in posing! Luckily Uncle Andy and Aunt Taryn have great powers of persuasion, so we were able to get a half-decent one, at least. :) 

Gotta love the 32-week prego belly I'm sporting! Ha! I totally should have angled myself differently, but we were so busy trying to get Collette to smile and not screech "NO! I no want it!" that it didn't even occur to me. Oh well. 

For Collette's birthday, LL and decided to make over one of our spare bedrooms to be Collette's new "big girl" room.  We figured moving her now would help ease the transition for when the new baby arrives and (eventaully) needs the nursery.  The night before her party, at about 2-3 am (depending on how you look at daylight savings time!) we were putting the finishing touches on her room! Yes, we are insane.  Her new room will be the next post!
