We took a day trip to the zoo in Madison and we had a great time! It's a free, smaller zoo so we were able to leave first thing in the morning, spend the morning walking around, eat lunch, and then head home. It was perfect!
I think this picture is pretty accurate :)
Collette loved all of the animals, but these giraffes were so close to the fence and we could see them so well that we spent a lot of time watching them!
We saw all kinds of neat animals:
Checking out the llamas and alpacas with Bumpa:
One of the highlights for Collette was being able to feed the goats! She was so excited to put the money in, get her "goat treats" and feed them! They were very eager and actually pretty gentle. :)
Trey was a great sport at the zoo. He rode happily in the stroller and took everything in.
Right before we left, Collette asked to ride the Carousel. She was so.excited. to ride it! Mimi and Bumpa stayed with Trey while Collette and I rode. She picked a camel to ride and was beyond excited to see and wave at Mimi, Bumpa, and Trey every time we came around! She laughed and hugged me repeatedly and kept saying "This is so fun! I love you Mommy!" Even the attendant noticed her enthusiasm and when we got off told her, teasingly, "I hope you can have fun next time you ride!"
We had such a great time, and wore the kids out! I think Collette was asleep before we even left the parking lot! :)
