10 Months Old

We have reached the double digits!! Little Elliott is 10 months old, and not quite so little any more! So what's new with Elliott at 10 months? He has had an eventful month!

~ He now has two teeth! His bottom two teeth have popped through, and they are sharp little buggers.  :)

~ He has begun to really "go places" when he crawls.  Up until this past month, Elliott wasn't a motivated crawler.  He would craw a few steps to get a specific toy or reach a person, but he was still largely content to just sit and play, and watch his siblings.  This past month, he has started to really explore.  He will crawl from room to room, looking for anything he shouldn't have. :)  I pulled out my baby gates for the first time in over two years this month!

~ He is starting to pull up more, and stands for longer periods of time.

~ He has learned how to wave, and proudly waves hello and goodbye. This is often accompanied by him doing his "so big" move, with both arms stretched above his head. :)

~ He is eating more finger foods, and is able to eat them more effectively-- he isn't gagging as much as he was.  He now prefers to eat finger foods and feed himself, instead of being fed. He loves Cheerios, and will be quite entertained eating them while I prep dinner.

~ He is still not a consistent sleeper.  He often will awake around 12 am for a "midnight snack," and then sometimes will sleep until 5:30-6:00am.  Sometimes he is still up around 3:00am.  Last night he slept all night! The night before that, he was awake the majority of the night (that is very unusual for him). He does usually take two good naps a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and goes to sleep around 8:30pm.

(One was supposed to be putting the other to sleep.  It didn't work out quite like I anticipated.)

(Milk coma baby)

~ He still thinks Peek-a-boo is hilarious, and loves to play Patty Cake or other clapping games. He loves to bang things together, or bang on his high chair, and has started to enjoy putting toys in things and taking them back out again. He loves it when Collette and Trey play with the Duplo blocks, and plays right along with them, banging the blocks together and tasting them. :)

~ His hair is growing quickly, and I think he is soon due for his first hair cut! It is still fluffy, but as it gets longer, isn't sticking up quite as much.  And it is pretty blond! Sometimes people say they see tints of red in his hair, but I think the Reitzes are conditioned to see (or want to see) redheads! :)

~ He has started to say "uh-oh" when he drops things.  And dropping things is another favorite game.

~ He is just such a sweet, happy boy.  Whenever he is watched in nursery, or by anyone else, people consistently comment on what a great baby he is.  This is often accompanied by offers to take him home with them.  (Somehow, people don't seem to make this offer for his big siblings???? HA!)

Here are his 10 month pictures.  Please, quit growing so fast, baby!!
