For My Mississippi Friends....

When I first moved to the South, I was amazed at how people dressed up their little children for church or other special occasions. I could not believe all of the big collars, smocked outfits, bubble suits, and white patent leather shoes (in fact, the words "smocked" and "bubble suit" were not even in my vocabulary until my sweet southern friends informed me of them). Many of my MS friends have lamented that Baby Girl Reitz will not have any of this stuff to show her Southern roots. Well, good news, girls! My mom came to the rescue! At the baby shower this weekend my mom brought several outfits that I wore as a baby, including these two:

Who knew I had "hand smocked" dresses as a little girl? :o) Now this little one has a long sleeved and a short sleeved smocked dress! Do y'all feel better now? :o)

P.S.

The nursery saga continues. All of the walls came out yesterday, and today they started insulating. The plan is to hang the drywall on Thursday... Here is the "progress," although it feels more like "regression."
