Trey is 11 months old! In just a blink of an eye, another month has passed. In a few short weeks, we will be celebrating his first birthday! (P.S.... those commercials for Dreft detergent that proclaim "You have a child forever, but you will only have a baby for one year" are about to make me tear up!)
So what's new with Trey at 11 months?
~ He has two teeth that are truly visible. He is a drool machine so a few more may not be far behind. Collette had a whopping four teeth at her first birthday, maybe Trey will, too?
~ He is a true Reitz- he loves his food! He double-fists food and often out-eats Collette (although currently Collette isn't eating all that much). He has started doing what his big sissy used to do when she was a baby-- if he sees a food that he wants, he will look us right in the eye and say very pointedly, "MMMMMMMM." He could not be more clear about what he wants. :) He loves all foods, but gets very excited about sweet potatoes, bananas, and string cheese. He also is entirely bottle-fed now, and gets ridiculously excited when he sees a bottle. DO NOT let him get a glimpse of it if you don't intend to feed him immediately! He usually has 4 bottles a day, usually about 5-6 ounces.
~ He is growing like crazy. He has started to outgrow a lot of his 9-12 month clothes and is moving in to 12-18 month. He wears a size 3 shoe and I just bought him size 4 diapers today.
~ He is on the go, go, go! He cruises all of the furniture, crawls at hyper-speed, and grabs everything she shouldn't have-- particularly, power cords, anything electronic, and anything in the bathroom. He will attempt to get into the toilet, unroll all of the toilet paper, and play with the toilet brush in about 2.5 seconds if you aren't quick enough! He is starting to let of things while standing, but his balance isn't good yet. He does like to walk behind a push-toy.
~ He is the worst baby I have ever seen for diaper changes. He twists, flails, has his hands everywhere.... it's like baby wrestling getting him changed!
~ He doesn't say too many words yet-- mama, dada, and bye-bye are about it. (And MMMMMMM!) He has started waving bye and is so proud of himself to throw his hands up in the air when we ask "How big is Trey?" "Sooooo big!" :)
~ His love for his thumb is undiminished. :) He is still a rock-star sleeper. He goes to bed around 7:30pm, and sleeps straight through until 8:00am. If he goes to bed later, he will sleep even later than 8:00. He is still taking a nap at 10:30am and 2:00pm, although he does pretty well if he has to skip is morning nap.
~ He is still a snuggler and I am soaking up every minute of it. :)
~ I have just scheduled hair cut #3 for him. His hair doesn't look as red as it did when he was a little baby, but when you see him next to Daddy you can see it's still pretty close. (One of my all-time favorite pics of the, courtesy of my friend Nancy!)
