This past Friday, we spontaneously got together with our friends Nancy and Dave and their kids for dinner. I had told Nancy about a cheesecake tart with honeyed apricots that I had made the day before (for another dinner) and we had half of it left. LL suggested we have the family over for dinner that night. So I talked to Nancy and they were free! It was a fun and crazy night. :) Their son Noah is 4, and daughter Erin is 2. We don't get together that often with people who have kids close in age to ours, so it's fun to have other people around who don't blink at the chaos and can follow a sentence that is interrupted about five times by instructions like, "Collette, turn around. Trey, no, no. Collette, use your spoon. I said use your spoon! Not your fingers! Hold on buddy, I'll get you more." So, to use the word "dinner date" may be a little bit inaccurate, but we definitely had a good time and got to have some adult conversation in between caring for the kids.
Collette and Erin had a blast playing together. Both of these little girls are so full of personality and spunk. Miss Erin is Teeny Tiny, but she just turned 2, so she and Collette are not as far apart in age as they seem. Nancy and I are envisioning lots of future fun and craziness with the two of them together!
I didn't take a single picture that night, but thankfully Nancy did, and she posted about it on her blog. Hop on over there to check it out:
