Knoebels with Friends

A few weekends ago, we were able to get together with one of my oldest and dearest friends and her family.  Dawn and I became friends as kids, when we moved to New York state and attended church together.  Our parents are also close friends, so we would see each other often.  Many of my favorite memories of my years in New York include her! As we went separate ways through college, careers, marriages, and kids, we have stayed in touch and gotten together a few times, but always found it hard to coordinate schedules. Finally, after several failed attempts due to situations beyond our control, we were able to spend the day together! It was so great to see her and her husband Paul, and to meet each others' boys-- the last time we were together I was very pregnant with Trey!

We decided to go to Knoebels for the day. It didn't start out very promising, since it was cold and rained the whole morning, but the rain stopped and it cleared up about the time we finished our lunch. The kids had a great time riding all of the rides, and Dawn and I had a great time catching up!

All four of the "big kids" got to ride the boats! Riley was so excited. :)

The Ribbit is my daredevil, adrenaline-junkie kids' favorite. After watching Collette ride, Maddie decided she wanted to ride it too.  She didn't look quite as enthusiastic when it started, but later said it was her favorite ride. :)

The hand cars are always a hit.

Sweet girls.  They are both 4, and will both be starting Kindergarten in the fall.  How did that happen??

Riding the big boats! Collette and Trey were both so excited to be able to drive. Watch out!

Photo op! Do these two look like they may have posed a time or two before? ;)

The Old Smokey train was fun for everyone!

Ready to fly!

Sweet girls on the Ferris wheel!

More Ferris wheel fun.

Saying goodbye... we promised ourselves that we wouldn't wait so long to get together again!
