6 Months Old!

Half a year has gone by since sweet Elliott entered the world.  What's new with Elliott at 6 months?

~ He has really been enjoying his solid foods this past month.  He eats baby cereal (we did rice cereal and are now doing oatmeal with banana), and he is eating veggies and a few fruits.  So far, he as liked everything he has tried, and is winning the award for my neatest-eating-baby! :)

~ He is staring to sitting up pretty well unassisted, although he isn't reliable enough to let him sit on his own without someone there watching him.

~ He has struggled with waking up crying inconsolably several times a night; at his 6 month appointment his doctor thought this (and his coughing at night time) could be related to his reflux.  He suggested we prop up one end of Elliott's crib, and the difference was immediate! He is sleeping so much better and not waking up sobbing! The past few nights he has either slept for the entire night, or only been up one time.  Such an improvement!

~ He is starting to really enjoy the jumparoo we got from a friend.  He is figuring out how to jump jump jump and has even jumped until he fell asleep. :)

~ He likes to have his feet and tummy tickled, and will giggle when we tickle him.  He grins a lot and is a very happy baby, but he doesn't laugh out loud a whole lot, so it is fun to hear him laugh.

~ He continues to be so entertained by Collette and Trey, and gives them huge smiles whenever they play with him.  And they still think it is great-- the novelty of having a baby brother hasn't worn off for them!

~ He still is not rolling much, he just doesn't appear to have any interest in it.  His doctor said he is on-track developmentally, and some babies just aren't that into rolling, so not to worry.

~ He weighed in at 17 lbs, 12.5 oz and 27 inches at his 6 month appointment.  That puts him in the 55% for weight and the 65% for height.  Trey was very similarly sized at his 6 month appointment.

~ He is now in size 3 diapers and size 6-9 or 9-12 month clothes. Since most of the baby boy clothes I have are from Trey, and Trey was in 6-9 month sizes during summer, I just got out some 9-12 mo clothes so Elliott would have some warmer clothing options. They fit him better than I thought they might!

I think he is looking more and more like Collette has he gets older.  Here are all 3 kiddos at 6 months:
