We've had a few firsts around here this week. To start, this little guy had his first bottle:
Fed by Daddy.
LL said he was attempting to mimic me by using the Boppy. :) Trey liked it just fine, and took it without any problems. Which was great, because today I had my first follow-up appointment for my c-section, and I went ALONE! Yup, I drove for the first time post-c-section, and mom had her first time with two kids solo while I was gone, since LL was at work. She survived (with a little assistance from baby gates and Mickey Mouse) and I had a good appointment, too, and seem to be healing well. I go back in four weeks, and then I will (hopefully) have no more restrictions and get a clean bill of health. :) Oh, our doctor also gave us a new little shirt for Trey. It has a picture of the baby stork on it and says "Special Delivery by Dr. Julie Redcay." Too cute! I will have to post a picture of him wearing it soon. We were so blessed to be able to have my doctor (whom we had scheduled our c-section with for Dec.28), despite the unplanned nature of his delivery.
Collette had a first this week, too. Yesterday she had her first ride in her new wagon! And yes, it was SUPER cold yesterday, but LL got off work a little bit early, so he was home while it was still light, and wanted to take her. She was pretty excited, despite the cold weather.
They went to feed the pigs, and then went down to the farm, which is about 0.7 miles away--pretty far for a 20 degree day! Collette, with her hat, heavy jacket, mittens, fleece pants, boots, and blanket, didn't seem to mind at all.
Side note: don't ya love the hat? It was a gift from LL's coworkers for Collette when they gave us Trey's baby present (how sweet!). The hat is reversible, with a sheep on one side and a pink kitty cat on the other. She loves wearing her hat and has very specific ideas about which animal she wants to wear on any specific occasion. She is also so proud of herself for being able to "buckle" (velcro) the hat herself. She will get all excited and come running to us saying, "I did it!! I buckle kitty cat hat!" So cute.
