Just an F.Y.I.:
Getting prints of newborns/toddlers is not for the faint of heart. And if you have any perfectionistic tendencies, you will need to let them go.
I wish I had pictures of the process, but we were too busy trying to keep Collette out of the paint. Anyway, we managed to get Trey's feet on an ornament (it's much harder to get a good print on a curved surface like an ornament than on a flat surface).
For Collette, we had her do her handprint and then I turned her fingers into snowmen. I got bigger size ornaments, so I probably should have positioned her hand higher on the ornament, instead of putting her palm on the bottom of it, but oh well.
We were able to get 3 of each, so both sets of grandparents got one, too.
The other footprint craft I made was a birth plaque for Trey. I got a small wooden plaque at Michaels:
Painted it black:
Then got his footprints on scrapbook paper. I used scrapbook letters to add his name, birth date, weight, and length.
Then I used Mod Podge to glue the paper to the plaque, and to cover the plaque. Voila!
This doesn't quite fit the "crafty" category, but I got some of black and white prints of Trey to add to the photo display we have of Collette's baby pictures. We tried to get some similar shots of both of them (pictures on LL's arm and in the basket), and one individual shot of each of them, and then one shot of the two of them together. I think it turned out cute. (I promise they look straighter on the wall than they look in this picture!)
