This week the weather has been sooooo beautiful! I have been so excited to be able to get outside-- since Trey was born in December, and we've tried to minimize his exposure to all of the nasty bugs and illnesses out there, we've spent most of the last few months essential house-bound. And it was really too cold to have him outside even in our yard, so we've been inside our house pretty much 24-7. But no more! Spring is coming, and we are loving it!
Our new favorite activity is to go to the new-ish playground in the little town closest to us. Last year, the the little town just over the mountain got rid of their dilapidated, non-functioning pool, and put in a toddler-friendly playground instead! It was finished in the fall, so we barely got there before the weather turned cold. Because we live in such a rural area, having a playground close is A BIG DEAL. Somehow, the idea of having to pack up the kids and drive close to an hour round-trip to go to a playground just seems like too much, so we almost never before. We are making up for it now!
Collette loves the playground!
She is such a little social butterfly. She really does view every single kid she meets as a potential friend. She will run up to whoever happens to be there and say "Hi! Hi! Come, let's play!!" Most of the time the other little kid just looks at her. LOL. Poor Collette. It never seems to deter her, though. :) This little boy (above) was one of the few willing participants.
:)
We are excited to be in our yard more this spring, too. When my BIL and SIL moved, they gave us their turtle sandbox and swing set. The swing set still needs to be moved over to our house from their old house, but Collette is already excited to play with the sandbox. :) Now, we just need some sand. Ha!
And sweet Trey is just a little laid-back guy. Yesterday while we played in the yard, he sat in his car seat on the picnic table:
(See? I told ya he's a thumb-sucker. So precious!)
Looks like another gorgeous day here today. I think I know where we will be going! :)
