So what's new with Trey at 14 months?
~ Biggest news first: He is a full-time walker. He is walking everywhere, bending to to pick things up and walking with them, and working on his running skills. He may have had a slower start to walking, but he's making up for it now! :)
~In addition to walking, he is climbing. Everything. His favorite things to climb currently are the antique kid-sized rocking chair from LL's family, the pink chair in Collette's room, and the stairs. Today he got his first climb-related boo-boo. He climbed into the pink chair and took a header out of it as I was on my way over to retrieve him. He actually was standing on the chair at one point. Sigh. Anyway, he bit his tongue and it was bleeding a bit, but it didn't slow him down!
~ His vocabulary is starting to expand, and he added his first new sentence this month- "I go." Appropriate, don't you think? :) (He was actually sitting in a time-out and wanted to get up, and asked "I go?" several times. Ha!) He also says mama, dada, pap, mo (more), ba (ball), dog, moo, ni-ni (night night), mmmmmm, bye-bye, no, and probably a couple of others I forget right now. He likes to wave, give high-fives, and has gotten good at giving open-mouthed kisses on the cheek. So sweet.
~ He eats like it's going out of style. Seriously. The boy is a bottomless pit. The other day I took the kids to McDonalds as a treat (we had to go to Wal-Mart over lunch time so it was their reward for good behavior), and Trey ate his whole cheeseburger, all of his apple slices (in very teeny tiny pieces since he only has 4 teeth) and then said "mmmmmm!" and reached for the rest of Collette's disgarded cheeseburger, and finished that off, too. On our bathroom scale he weighs 24.5 lbs.
~ His favorite toys are anything he can bang together to make noise. He loves the drum and drumsticks, but can be a little hazardous with the drumsticks! He also loves to bang any kind of toy or block together. He also likes blocks, toy cars and anything that makes music-- especially his guitar.

~ He is still a little snuggler and still loves his thumbs. He likes to be held especially when he's tired or just waking up, but he will often come sit with me at other points too. I'm working to get him to say say "up," but currently he just stretches out his arms for me.
~ His new, not-so-endearing characteristic is screaming in displeasure (shrilly) when he is redirected or told no. Sometimes he will pitch a little fit to go with it. We are working on correcting that and he has started getting little time-outs, which Collette calls "Baby Time Outs." :)
~ He still has only 4 teeth, but the 4th one is almost entirely in now.
~ He still takes 2 naps a day. At around 10:00 am he will sleep for about 1.5 hours, and then around 2:30 he will sleep for 1.5-2 hours. He goes to bed about 8pm and often sleeps til 7:30.
~He has turned into a bit of an instigator. Collette is still his favorite person ever, but he likes to tease her now. He will come over and try to knock over her block tower, try to grab her Leap Pad game from her, pull her hair, or crawl all over her when she is looking at book. Sometimes Collette thinks it's funny and sometimes she gets upset. Stinker.
Trey is such a happy little boy and such a joy to us every day. Happy 14 months, Trey!
