Collette has reached the big 2-0. Twenty months old today! It is just incredible how fast time flies. In 4 shorts months she will be TWO, and then in 5 short months she will be a BIG SISTER! Here are few highlights from Collette at 20 months:
~She has started talking in phrases a lot more now. She will say "I want up" instead of just "up" (or whatever she wants). She also is saying things like "Where'd it go?" "Where's cup?" "That's Daddy's" and things like that. She is picking up words left and right. :o) It's so fun to see her make all those connections.
(A lot of these are pictures from our phones. Sorry about the poorer quality!)
~She still loves yellow (today she picked a yellow dress out of her drawer and said "oooooh, pretty!"), but she is getting much better at naming all of the other colors, too. She will now repeat all the colors after me, and says some more spontaneously, although I'm not sure she always knows the colors.
(Reading one of her colors books to Bingo)
~She still loves shoes and loves to put our shoes on and clomp around in them. Sometimes she does pretty well, other times the results are disastrous. LOL
~She is getting very into playing with her baby dolls. She usually carries one of them around most of the time, and has fun hugging her baby, sharing her food and sippy cup with her, and putting her in her high chair.
(Two of her favorite dolls and her favorite bear, a Carebear LL's mom made for him as a kid, all lined up. )
(Loving on her baby)
(Kissing her baby. Oh, that mop of hair!)
~She is still a great eater. She has recently discovered a love for peanut butter, but still licks it off bread or bagels instead of eating it together. She also loooooves dipping her food in anything. Ketchup is a favorite, but the other day she was having a snack with Daddy (who is infamous for his unhealthy snacking habits) and was dipping her potato chips in vanilla ice cream. Sweet and salty-- I'd say she has an advanced palate already! :o)
(Please note how Collette has piled all of her meatloaf on top of her cup to get to a straight spoonful of ketchup at the bottom of the bowl. LOL)
~She continues to absolutely adore all animals, and squeals with delight when she sees them in person or on TV!
She now calls both of our dogs "Bundon." LOL! I have no idea how she came up with that one. I think she was trying to say "Byron" originally, but now she just calls them both "Bundon." Bryon still tries to avoid her most of the time, but Bingo is her best bud.
(The best babysitting technique ever?!? I jest. Sort of. HA!)
~The child STILL has not gotten any more teeth!! I'm about to call the dentist and have him x-ray her to see if there are really more teeth in there!! Ha!
~She is primarily in 24month clothes, but she can wear 2T dresses. She's still a tall and solid girl! She weighs about 28lbs on our bathroom scale.
~She is a still a little ham and has no concept of stranger anxiety. She says hello to everyone we meet and is always ready to make friends. Collette has such a sweet and sunny disposition most of the time, and just loves everyone!
~She is a true child of the technology age. If I turn my back for a second, she will have gotten on the computer, grabbed a phone, or LL's Kindle! And she will high-tail it away just as fast as she can if I catch her in the act! Stinker.
Happy 20 months, Collette!
