Weekend at Mountain Top

Collette and I took a mini-vacation this weekend! From Sunday to Monday, we went with my great friend Nora to her family's cabin, called Mountain Top.  It's about two hours north of our house, and I use the word "cabin" loosely-- maybe I should say "lodge"? It's a huge place with more bedrooms than I could count and lots of living space.  Quite a few members of Nora's extended family were able to come, too, and it was great to see them again. Nora's cousin Kelly has a little girl just a couple of months older than Collette, and the two of them had a great time playing together. Greta is a little doll! So cute.  We went hiking, spent lots of time outside, and went to the lake.  Collette loooooooved the water.  She would run just as fast as she could into the deeper and deeper water, and would get mad every time I wouldn't let her go in past her shoulders!!  She has NO fear! Finally she did decide it would be fun to play with Greta in the shallower water and in the sand, and I was able to get a few pictures of the two of them.

Who needs beach toys when you can use plastic cups? :)

We may have had to remind the girls just once or twice that just because they have water in a cup, it does not necessarily mean they should drink it!!

Taking a momentary break in the water.

Two of my favorite girls!! Collete and Nora. So sweet.
I actually only got pictures at the lake, because it was the only time Collette slowed down enough for me to get any! LOL.  She was a girl on the move!! It's always more challenging in a new place, especially when there's no toddler-proofing of any kind, and I don't think I sat down for more than 2.5 seconds the entire time, unless we were eating or Collette was sleeping.  Nora's family kept remarking, "Wow, she sure is busy!!" Haha. Yes. Yes, she is "busy." But we both had a great time, and Collette even slept really really well, both at night and during nap time, so I did get some "adult time," too.

In unrelated news, I had my (almost) 16 week doctor's appointment today.  (I had to go a little bit early because we have vacation/ LL's conference coming up.)  Everything looked great with baby, and our next appointment is our 20 week ultrasound, and hopefully The Big Gender Reveal!
