I have posted from time to time about Preston, our potbellied pig. In case you have missed previous Preston posts, LL brought him home from work after his previous owners were unable to keep him. He actually brought him home in a dog carrier and put him under the tree, the year we had Collette (you can see pictures of baby Preston HERE, in Collette's First Christmas post. And P.S. OH MY BABY! WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY BABY? *TEAR*).
Well, Preston (who has his own house in one of our small barns, by the way) has been growing like crazy! LL recently got the idea to use of of the Newfie's harnesses and put it on him, so we could let him be outside more, since he long ago outgrew his last harness. The harness for my 100+lb dogs barely fit, but finally it was on him! And now, Preston has a new job-- cleaning up our yard. :)
We have a pear tree that has been dropping unripe/bug eaten pears all over our yard, and the other day I looked out our kitchen window to see this:
LL and Collette had walked Preston across the road and harnessed him to our pear tree, so he could eat all of the yummy pears that were littering our yard.
Collette was fascinated watching him! She and LL spent a long time like this, just watching:
And of course my little animal-lover had to get in on the action, too.
Every day this week, Preston has come over to eat some pears. He seems pretty happy with the arrangement:
How many of you have had to tell your one year old to stop kissing a pig? :)
