Strawberry Season

If you followed by blog pre-baby, you will remember that June begins the busy season here on the farm! LL's family cumulatively has a huge garden that we all work in, and we get a lot of fresh fruit from family and friends. Yesterday the season began, and we got 28 quarts of strawberries! Taryn and the kids came over, and we spent several hours hulling, slicing, and freezing strawberries. We didn't do any jam yesterday; I think we will do that with the next batch of strawberries. In addition to freezing, LL decided we needed to make a fabulous dessert. So he did. And let me tell you, it was indeed fabulous. Here it is:

I'm looking a little worse for the wear, but doing strawberries with 3 kids 3 and under is a challenge, and it was after 10:30 when we took this picture, so we were all feeling a little rough! Haha.

In other news, Miss Collette has discovered that if she can get herself off of the area rugs and on to the hardwood floor, she can slide around a lot easier:

Notice the crazy hair. I don't know what we are going to do with this mop of hair! My dad suggested cutting it but I just can't bear to do that, so we will just struggle through it. :)
