The South Retreats

Well, the North has survived another invasion (as LL put it) and our Mississippi friends have retreated. We had a great time visiting with them! Thursday we went to Gettysburg, looking at the Civil War Museum and touring the battle fields. John took a ton of fabulous pictures, but I don't have them yet, so you will just have to make due with a few pictures of the battle field.


After Gettysburg, we were planning to go to Hershey and the outlets, but some one's child was getting cranky, so we decided to head back and get dinner along the way. Wondering which child? I'll give you a hint--it wasn't this one:

Sweet Mary Audrey was so great the entire day and at dinner at Red Robin. Collette, however, was another story. Poor girl has started teething hardcore, and by Friday morning she had a fever of 101.1 and a nose running like a faucet. Here is the poor little sickie:

Wondering about her "Pebbles" ponytail in the middle of her head? Here is something I never considered about long-haired babies: runny nose + long hair = crusty hair. EEEEEEEEWWWWWWW. So I have been pulling it back out of her eyes and nose at nights.

Friday night Leanne fried up the turkeys that John shot. They were fabulous and we had a great time eating our Southern favorites with everyone! Here are a few of the guys enjoying the food:

Saturday the weather was beautiful and we decided to grill out for lunch. We tried to get some good pictures of the girls but Collette was still not feeling the greatest, so we had a very abbreviated photo shoot. Here are a few cute ones:

Saturday night we went out for BBQ with the Eby family, and we had a great time. Here is Leanne with her girls. Every time she would hold Collette, Mary Audrey would come over and need to be held, too, so we got a lot of pictures with them. So cute.

On Sunday we had to say good bye to the Longs. We miss them already, but the Reitz Bed and Breakfast won't be vacant for long.... my parents and grandpa come on Friday!
