It hold only an inch or two of water, and has lots of little "fountains" that can be turned up or down with the water pressure. When LL came home for lunch, we decided to try out the pool. First we put the cute baby in her swimsuit and got that mop of hair out of her eyes with some pigtails (I went to Target and got some more hairbands, since she seems to be on a bow strike).
And then it was time for the pool!!!
Um, Collette was traumatized.
She cried and screamed and cried and wanted nothing to do with the pool. She was also very tired, so we put her down for a nap and tried again later in the afternoon when we were well rested and fed. We also invited cousins Isaac and Tabby to come over and play, too. When LL held her near the pool, she again started to cry. So I did a little systematic desensitization with her. (Put that Master's to use!) First we spent a few minutes looking at the pool from a distance, then we moved closer. Then we sat on the ground near the pool, facing away from it. Then we turned toward the pool and watched Isaac and Tabby play in it. And finally--we were ready!! Collette got on the edge of the pool and didn't cry, and then got all the way in. After a few minutes, she was splashing away like a pro.

The Newfoundlands were on guard just in case anyone needed a water rescue.
I think the pool is a success!
