Welcome, Edwards', To PA!

We have just been having the best time with Scott, Lydia, and Reed! We have been on the go, go, go and done lots of fun stuff. Luckily, the Edwards' brought some Mississippi sun with them, and we have had beautiful warm weather. Wednesday when I picked them up it was chilly and only in the 50s, with quite a bit of wind, and we were a little worried, but since then the days have been beautiful and even a little too warm and muggy! Wednesday night we just hung around the house, and we gave them a tour of the farm, milk parlor, etc. I even attempted to welcome them to PA with a little towel animal art-- a turkey for Scott (for good luck hunting) and a cow for Lydia:

Thursday we drove to Gettysburg. It was so nice out, and we had a great time going though the museum and looking at the battlefields.

Loving the battlefield cannons! Notice that Reed is wearing a monogrammed shirt... I didn't want Collette to feel left out so we decided to sport our fancy monogrammed bib from Aunt Leanne :o)





After Gettysburg, we tried to go to Hershey's Chocolate World, but it was closed, so instead we went to the Hershey Outlets. We found some fabulous deals, and Collette is going to be one fashionable baby on that cruise! Here is precious Reed playing in the tulips at the outlets:

Friday we decided to go to Lancaster County. We drove around seeing the Amish and their farms. It was such a pretty day, and it was really neat to see the farmers plowing and making hay with their teams of horses. We also went to Litiz and toured Wilbur's Chocolate factory and shop. They have some fabulous chocolate! Here we are watching them make some of it:


After the chocolate factory we went for lunch at the Cafe Chocolate. We were able to eat outside, and had a great lunch. LL and I got a chocolate chili that was super yummy (I know that may sound gross, but don't knock it til ya try it--chocolate and hot stuff is a great combo if done right). And we also got a "Chocolate Lush" drink, which tasted exactly like chocolate covered strawberries. Yummmmmmmmmmm! Sorry the picture is a little shadow-y, but you get the idea:

After our lunch we walked down to the Cupcakery and split a cupcake. LL and I got Key Lime and Scott and Lydia went for Golden Butter. They were phenomenal.


There was a lot of driving involved in both days, and the kids were soooooo good. Way better than I thought they may be. Here they are in their car seats. Reed looks pretty content, Collette looks like she's saying "Seriously?!? Driving again?":

Saturday was the first day of Turkey season, so Scott was up way before dawn, while the rest of us slept in. It was HOT! 80s and muggy, so not like how May usually is in PA! That hot, muggy, Mississippi air must have traveled with the Edwards'! After the mighty hunters got done for the day (one of the guys did get a turkey, but not Scott, yet) we had a picnic outside. Luckily we have a nice shady yard!




LL thought it would be fun to bring Preston Pig out to play, which all of the little ones loved. Preston may or may not have been a little traumatized by 3 year old boys chasing him around the yard. LOL.


Yesterday we went to church together and then to the farm for lunch with the family. Here are the kiddos before nursery. You can see Reed in his Southern Sunday finest, and I dressed Collette in a smocked outfit, too, just to be true to her Southern roots. LOL. Mississippi friends, I'm sure you will think this is just precious. Northern friends, I really just can't even adequately describe how little boys in the South are dressed up.... just go with it. :o)

Yesterday afternoon Scott and I went to Chocolate World with Andy, Taryn, and the kids. Reed wasn't feeling the greatest so Lydia stayed home with him, and LL was on call, so he kept Collette with him. We didn't get any pictures from Chocolate World, but we did get the kids a super cute outfit so we will have to dress them up soon. We keep saying we need to take pictures of them together to show at their wedding slide show! :o)
