Can You Say "Brontodipolocus"?

Yesterday was Dino Day for the Reitz's! A newly-found species of dinosaur, the brontodipolocus, was discovered in Wyoming was assembled by a paleontologist right here in little ole Sunbury, PA. You can read the whole story here if you are interested, but the bare bones (haha! Get it? I'm so funny this morning!) is that the gigantic dino is on display for 5 days only here, before it goes to the Capitol Rotundas and then to it's permanent museum home in Wyoming. They nick-named the Dino "Apollo" and he was pretty impressive--83 feet long, 14 feet high. LL, my 3 SILs, and all 7 cousins were able to go see him. Here he is:

Apollo's head was entirely preserved as a fossil, so they brought the actual head still in stone to look at, and used a recreation for the Dino head:

Our attempt at a group shot with all the cousins:

Lot's of fun. :o)

Stay tuned for Collette's big 11 month photos later today!
